Post & Beam Frame
This building technique allows the structure of the building to be exposed and when covered in glass remain visible from the inside and out. When setting glass directly onto the frame we improve upon traditional timber frame materials and methods. GlueLaminated beams with hidden steel fasteners efficiently provide the sun structures’ form. • GlueLam beams are manufactured to strict quality standards and offer nearly 3 times the strength of solid sawn lumber. • The dimensional stability of GlueLam is necessary to support glass which doesn’t like shifting or warping frames. • The glass is set onto foam gaskets over a butyl membrane completely protecting the wood. The aluminum glazing system guarantees leak free, no maintenance performance. • The wooden frame is hand crafted in our shop then prefinished with the owners’ choice of stain and color. |
